Lay your head where my heart used to be
over the earth above me
Lay down on the green grass
remember when you loved me

Green Grass - Tom Waits

Try listening to that tune at 3 in the morning in bed. man alive

This one didn't really hit me until the Glitter and Doom album--then I wondered how on earth it managed to pass me by. What a great song.

I listened to it many times and never really took the song literally...

Then one night laying in bed at ...3 am....i put on my Tom Waits to sleep mix....this song came on and it hit me... that he is actually singing from the grave. I dont know why ii ever listened to it and believed otherwise. .kind of creeped me out! In a fantastic way though.

ELO's "Telephone Line" creeped me out when I was a kid.

It was that freaky dial tone, the muffled lyrics.

yes, and actually Stinkfist has always kind of creeped me out too. Other stuff too, I'm brainfarting on it. I like Tool, dont take this as anything otherwise.

I fell asleep listening to Melvin's "Stoner Witch" once, and woke up halfway through "Lividity". It took me a good 30 seconds to conclude that everything was indeed still OK.
