Here's what's bugging me about this: why is there so much fuss about this when you could walk into a bar and order a vodka and Red Bull without raising an eyebrow? Or how about simply buying those ingredients?

It's only 12% alcohol.

I'm not sure what the point is either. I just read what the CDC had to say from a link on the page you posted... http://www.cdc.gov/alcohol/fact-sheets/cab.htm

I found this a little funny too. These kinds of drinks mainly appeal to underage and or college kids so I guess government officials feel they need to step in.

I find that these kinds of controversies usually stem from urban myths....like... these wonderful angels only drank one four loko and insert all number of bad things that happened..(never mind that the people set out to get fucked up and this was the desired intention)..this is a nightly news reporters dream.

Nevermind that you can make coffee and fill it half full of whisky to achieve essentially the same results.

It's more about the flavoring and the marketing than anything else really that draws criticism.

I'm sure it tastes like runny diarrea and Sprite.

fun fact: tastes better over ice.

yeah, but this is stupid. while one of these cans is similar to ~6 light beers, as others noted you can do the same thing with liquor and caffeine manually, and with more punch. although that's not as convenient as going out and picking up fourlokos.

I drank these a LOT earlier this year. We would get gatorade bottles and fill them with Loko, then go fuck around in public. Probably not a good idea looking back. I drank 3 cans of it once and woke up the next day with a shitty hangover, then projectile vomited puke all over the sidewalk.

A lot of my friends still drink it, I've had like maybe 5 since the semester started and I'm probably buying some tonight because all I've heard about all day is the damn Four Loko ban. Stock up while they're still $2, save until ban in 2011, sell for $10 a piece to slutty girls and freshman.
