I love Barbecue....there are a few pretty good places around here but it's not big. I've made my own multiple times that is better than anything I've had anywhere. (not trying to toot my own horn too much, haven't had BBQ down south)
I've perfected ribs, usually prep them w a dry rub then smoke them for 5 -6 hours. Make a homemade bbq sauce on the side, semi sweet. I have done pulled pork a few different ways, usually smoke them for 15 hours. I get a nice thick\tasty bark on it. I pull through it by hand and discard any bits of cartilage, veing, blobs of fat or tissue, etc. I like mine to me more thicker chunks than shredded. I never mix in sauce with the meat....always serve on the side. I can't stand when pulled pork has sauce mixed in and it's like a mushy blob. My sauce for that is a really vinegary and peppery sauce. I make a pretty decent slaw to go with/on it.

What do you drink with your BBQ? There is a soda (it's red) that is kind of specific to the South that my friend would always get, but I can't remember the name.
