There was a Seattle club which closed down a few years ago.. Pearl Jam apparently once played there, a very early gig (maybe one of their first?). There were stories about how a famous wall - with pictures of Pearl Jam (?) - was finally white-washed over when the club was closed.
What was the club called please, and can anyone link me to any info/articles about this wall being painted over? I'm really interested in walls.. not really, but this one wall in particular, yes.
IF anyone knows what I'm talking about, I'd be very grateful.

They played the Off Ramp early on. It is closed now, sort of. It's still a club just under a different name. Croc closed if I'm not mistaken because of the damages from the earthquake earlier this decade.

It is very difficult to google news items for the closing of off ramp.

Moore theater is also still open. And there are more than a "few" clubs in Seattle. But you can just look up the venues on http://www.pearljam.com under the setlists, right? That should narrow it down.

It was probably RCKCNDY...that place is long gone.
There was also the Offramp where they played their first show (as Mookie Blaylock) but that still exists as a music club. After a couple name changes it is now known as El Corazon.
The Showbox is still there and in fact added a second location in another part of town. The original Showbox, where PJ has played several times, is easily my favorite live music venue in Seattle. Love that place.
Moore, Paramount, and others are also still alive and kicking.
There are a couple smaller, divier type places in Pioneer Square called the J&M and the Central Tavern...they're still there...and I think PJ played there early on but not sure. I know Alice In Chains did. Good idea to check the historical setlists.
There was also a place called Moe's...now it's called Neumo's, but I don't think PJ ever played there. Not sure. They shot a music video at a small club called Chop Suey about midway through their career, but I'm not sure if they ever did an actual show there, either.
And then finally the good old Crocodile Cafe. It was shut down temporarily maybe 2 years ago, but someone else bought and reopened it...and it's still known as the Croc.

I know (I think) what you're talking about - Jeff's Mother Love Bone mural that was painted on the wall of the Vogue, yeah?
The Vogue: The MLB graffiti, shown above, used to be on the side of the Vogue, but was painted over a few years ago. =( The club has relocated to Capitol Hill, but as of 2001, the building has been reclaimed and is now the home of Vain International, the best place to get your hair cut in all of Seattle. There isn't much left of the original interior, but they do have photos of the graffiti before the renovation. They are very friendly and welcome tourists inside (there's a clothing and accessories shop in addition to the hair salon).
