But lately there ain't been much work on account of the economy
Now all them things that seemed so important
Well mister they vanished right into the air
Now i just act like i don't remember, mary acts like she don't care
But i remember us riding in my brother's car
Her body tan and wet down at the reservoir

My name is Mike D and I'm bout to get money."
He pulled out the jammey, aimed it at the sky.
He yelled, "Stick 'em up!" And let two fly.
Hands went up and people hit the floor.
He wasted two kids that ran for the door.
"I'm Mike D and I get respect.
Your cash and your jewelry is what I expect."
MCA what with it, and he's my ace,
so I grabbed the piano player and punched him in the face.
The piano player's out, the music stopped.

They want a piece of the action anyhow

Tom Waits
Tom Traubert's Blues (Four sheets to the wind in Copenhagen)

7.

From the dive down to the well
Usually I fall, tell myself
It doesn't matter anyway
That this is just another day
I don't speak the truth too much
Hear the roars and the hush
And the cold chill of time
And I'm happy murderin' my mind

Mark Lanegan
Hotel

8.

Oh no
Gracious even God
Bloodied on the cross
Your sins are washed enough
Mother's cry
"Is hate so deep
Must a baby's bones
This hungry fire feed?"
As smoke clouds roll in
The symphony of death
This is the last stop

Dave Matthews
The Last Stop

When you say cant use an artist twice, do you mean the writer of the song? Say I use a Neil Young lyric, does that mean I could still use something by Buffalo Springfield or CSNY that Neil didn't write? Or not?

I'm in, but to further Mick's question, is it by band or by writer?

I mean can I have a lenon lyric and a mccartney lyric?

And if not and it's by band, can I have a mccartney beatles lyric and then a wings one?

If it's up for discussion I say it should be based on song-writer, not band.

I was wondering this myself about Ice Cube's "Now I Gotta Wet Ya". Can I still use "She Swallowed It" by NWA?
