I'm spending the Holidays in Colombia this December-- spending time in Bogota, Barranquilla and making the trip to San Andres to hit the beaches and get some well-deserved R&R (not Doug). However, as much as I love my family I'm kind of sick of going to Colombia every year, and want to take a big, month-long trip somewhere awesome.
Now, I've been wanting to do a Southern-US tour for a while now and see Memphis, NOLA and a lot of spots I visited when I was too young to appreciate them for what they were. I also have a lot of friends in Austin and I'm dying to visit again. However, it's been a while (5 years since my cross-continent trip) since I've really visited anywhere new.
I've never been to New Zealand-- one of my very good friends is there right now and having the time of her life. I've also never been to Iceland and somehow I am fascinated by the thought of it. Basically right now I'm enamored with wide open spaces, green and grey. And goats.
I'm also of Lebanese descent, yet I've never visited the homeland. I've heard it's beautiful and I feel like I owe it to myself and to my heritage to visit that part of the world at least once.
It's also been a long long time since I've visited Europe.
I dunno. So many possibilities. What do you guys suggest?
