I'm making a rec based solely on the title of the thread. They don't remind me of Wellwater at all, but I saw the words "alien & cartoonish" and these guys were the very first thing that popped to mind. Band is called Morning Teleportation, from Portland, OR via Bowling Green KY. Tunes from these guys are kind of scarce right now. Youtube live stuff and their myspace is about it. They signed up on Isaac Brock's label and should have an ep out soon i believe.
