I don't think I'm sold on Pinot Noir. Could just be the one I tried was Yellow Tail.

Oh God, Yellow Tail sucks. Please don't drink that. It's like the Fosters of wine.

True Story: One time I got me some Yellow Tail because I was like well I know some aussies, well I took a swig and then poured the rest down the drain.

It was shite.

I believe it. Yellow Tail is some of the worst wine I've ever had. If you have them near you, check out Total Wine...They can really point out some very good under $10 bottles.

For Pinot Noir...A bad one, is one of the absolute worst varietals you could get. A good one however, is the best wine there is. It should be a nice soft, light bodied wine, that almost looks like a dark Rosé. It's a light bodied wine, but big on flavor, yet isn't heavy like a Syrah, or Zinfandel.

Get one from Willamette Valley in Oregon, and you won't be disappointed.

Had the Allegrini Palazzo della Torre 2007 tonight at a get-together with friends. Fantastic for having spent $22. I'm buying a half case.

I only ended up getting 3 more, so I could get a bottle of scotch too. But I'm glad to have some to hang on to for later.

Had some of this tonight. Some really great, underrated wines from eastern Washington and Oregon out there. I'm partial because I lived in the Yakima valley, but it's worth the try.

So it begins: got three reds for Christmas, just enjoyed two glasses of a Chalten Malbec from Argentina.

In the past week I've had a Finca Los Maza Bonarda, a Bodega Norton Malbec, and a Hogue Cab-Merlot. All three have been :nice:

I've never seen a Norton / Malbec blend, sounds interesting. You don't see many Norton wines outside of Virginia...have you (anyone here) had a stand alone Norton?

Sorry, Norton was the vineyard.
