One thing that could work in the Lions favor is a lack of pressure in comparison to previous years. The Tigers have been so bad, for so long...
that by the time training camp comes around, all eyes are focused on even the most minature of details... James Mungro or Avian Cason?!!!... seemed like the keys to the team.
This year, with the tigers being good, im already seeing and hearling less Lions talk than i had in previous years. Maybe this will allow Marinelli and Martz to get the team inline, and come late october (lets hope...) the Tigers will be over, and the city will focus on a much improved Lions team.

Mad Martz will come up with some stuff to make those WR succeed, but I wish Martz woulda been able to work with Joey Harrington....Martz is a QB genius, but Harrington basically said he was too ignorant to handle a complex offense. oh well

Martz has already said that he's been most impressed with Charles Rogers thus far. Mike Williams showed up to pre-camp like a fat tub of shit, and evidently was having trouble with Martz's schemes. Martz said Roy Williams was a man-child that was lighting it up.
Now, if only the other half of the team was as dedicated to playing instead of filing a grievance with the NFL because Marinelli was working them too hard.
Ah, the Lions. It smells like 1955 all over again . . .
I remember how pissed I was when the Lions took Mike Williams off the board one pick before the Cowboys' pick last year.
Joke's on you fuckers. Lions suck.
the joke's on anyone who thinks they know what type a player a guy is after ONE season.

The best thing that the Lions have going for them is that they have 2 great coordinators in Mike Martz and Donnie Henderson. But I still don't think that there is enough there to win more than 7 or 8 games. They need a real QB, Mike Williams will be lucky to make it through training camp. I've heard that Martz was actually impressed by Charles Rogers new work ethic??? Could that be possible? Either way, the bottom line is they are still the Lions. I know one thing is for sure. I WILL NOT get burned by Kevin Jones or any other RB in a similar situation to his in fantasy football ever again. Mark my words.

i don't know anything about how mike williams has been working, but wide receivers almost never have good rookie seasons. i wouldn't be shocked at all if he bounced back to have a nice career. of course, that wideouts take a while to develop should inform a team not to keep drafting them in the top ten year after year, but anyway.
