Dear Ten Club member-
With Pearl Jam's 20th anniversary year upon us bringing lots of goodies to boot, Ten Club is excited to announce a new option-based fan club experience for your 2011 membership renewal. Starting January 1, 2011 Ten Club will offer two (2) levels of membership -- ANALOG and DIGITAL -- giving you the option to choose the membership format that best suits your lifestyle. While our hard core dedicated ANALOG Level collectors will have even more limited edition annual freebies to add to their archives, our DIGITAL Level members can look forward to the streamlined, paperless, no-postage-necessary, virtual-only experience. Now's the time to dig deep and ask yourself, "Am I Analog or Digital?"
The 2011 renewal option change will not affect your current membership benefits. All memberships purchased in 2010 will keep the same benefits until it's time for your 2011 renewal. At that point, you will get to choose one (1) of these renewal options:
Tier 1: "Analog" Level US $40 / INTL $50 * Full Website Access * PJ Radio Access (Streaming only) * Holiday Single MP3 * Deep Magazine PDF * Members-only Contest Eligibility * Members-only Merch Discount Events * Access to Members-only Merch * Access to Fan Club only Ticket Pre-sales PLUS * Free Bootleg Download - Coupon code included in the renewal confirmation email * Limited Edition Vinyl 45 Holiday Single * Limited Edition Hard Copy of Deep Magazine * Limited Edition Ten Club T-Shirt - New Design Each Year sent at the Time of Renewal Purchase!
Tier 2: "Digital" Level US/INTL $20 * Full Website Access * PJ Radio Access (Streaming only) * Holiday Single MP3 * Deep Magazine PDF * Members-only Contest Eligibility * Members-only Merch Discount Events * Access to Members-only Merch * Access to Fan Club only Ticket pre-sales

I feel like DIGITAL should be less than 20 because it's getting less than what the $20 normally got you.
It sounds like maybe they were facing a price increase. It's like when your orange juice is now 59 ounces instead of 64 ounces. Tropicana figured you wouldn't notice the juice shrinking as easily as you'd notice the price increasing.

You really aren't getting anything for $20.
mp3s you could download elsewhere. Scans of Deep that would be available elsewhere. Members only sales and merch that you may or may not get an email for.

And you still might not score tickets. $20 for that privilege seems steep. I just think $20 for Digital is expensive.

I don't have a problem with $40 for analog, but you guys right. Twenty bucks for digital is a hose job.

Also, if it's really "analog" shouldn't I get a physical bootleg?

Yep.
Most fans will either switch to analog or drop out. If Ten Club covers their costs, don't expect digital to drop in price.

Here's the current price of items on the Ten Club website:
45 (based on The Fixer): $6.99 Digital Bootleg: $9.99 T-shirt: $20
I'm switching to Analog with no fear.
