I'd say there's probably a lot of really good Van Halen tunes. I realize it isn't a popular style of music around here (I hate 80's rock too), but Van Halen had talent. I'd put Eddie VH up there with the great rock guitar players of all time. His style was innovative & distinctive, and few players have been copied like EVH. I think a lot of people hate on them because they're lumped in with the Motley Crue and Poisons of the world.
