Because the majority of the American public are complete morons who prefer to have their vapid entertainment wishes filled with the likes of Yes Dear and According To Jim, etc.
Thats not true at all. Its because the people who would have loved the show couldn't be bothered. They'd wait for the DVD's, or download it. This thread is a great example of it.
It's kind a product of the system for me though. I haven't watched pretty much any tv show when it's originally broadcast in years. I've never had a tivo, dvr, etc...(and i know you can say that's my own fault). But it's so much easier for me to watch something at my own convenience than it is to either make time or invest money in a device to watch it in the near future after it's initially shown. And once a show has been around for awhile you can get a feel if you think you'd like it enough to invest time into it. That was the case with Lost for me, which I just completed via netflix. I started watching in 2008 and just finished, having only seen like 5 minutes total from any original broadcast. Of course the catch is good shows are affected by this approach that many of us take.

What was the last episode you watched, rafagarcia?
Episode 20: Whistler's Mother The family each beg money of Michael when the company funds become unfrozen. George Sr.'s twin brother Oscar shows up to attempt an affair with Lucille, and Michael makes a bad business deal with him after his father wished Oscar to have some of the money. Lindsay protests the Iraq War after her stylist is deployed.

If you're this far along and you still think it's merely good, maybe this show isn't for you.
