I was pretty young (8 I think), but I was having a dream about the family going on vacation. It was a nice plane ride, but somewhere over the ocean the engines failed. My dad, my brother and I were able to to get to a raft and we all huddled together in a ninja turtles blanket, but my mom was nowhere to be found. She was presumed dead and there was a memorial service.
Fast forward a little and we're on a trip and stop at this diner run by some real sleazy lookin guy and there is some sort of trailer park/shanty town apartments behind this bar/diner. One of the waitresses was my mom, but she didn't recognize us. She wasn't herself and was apparently in love with the owner of this bar. We kept trying to jog her memory and stayed in this little community while trying to get her to come to her senses, but it wasn't happening. There was a "showdown" at night between me and the owner of this bar in the alley outside where I hit him in the face with a rock and he told me that he would have killed me if I wasn't a kid. No matter what we tried, we couldn't get our mom back.

It was the only time I ever woke up crying and I don't think I ever hugged my mom so much.

That's heavy. I've lived through a few worse ones than any i've had during sleep.Never seem to remember nightmares but i've woken up crying once and no memory as to why. Dreamings great. Lucid dreamings even better. Thatd be fun to get into.

Love it or hate it, the extras dvd with Inception has a cool documentary on it all about dreaming and lucid dreaming. Some of the philosophy involved with dreaming is intense. Didn't realise there were whole areas of study active on it.

I had a dream in July 2005 that was really disturbing. I was at a bar and two very well-dressed men (think inception) approach me and ask me to step outside. I remember asking them what this was about and they just said that it would be much easier for everyone involved if I just came outside with them. They end up ushering me into a car and taking me to the crazy abandoned building and basically recruit me for this new government agency where through crazy intense training, chemical injections, and psychological torment, they have been able to build the perfect “citizen soldier.” They then show me some of the most disturbing images and video I can even begin to think up- just crazy shit. The one that sticks with me the most is they show me a video of this pudgy, portly loser of a guy- maybe 5’4” and 220lbs. hes weak minded and just soft. Then they show me the after video and this guy is a beast- a maniac. He well-dressed, speaks several languages and at their command he basically tears his skin open from his chest all the way down through his now enormous cock. Well, that’s enough for me…I tell them to fuck off and let me go and almost instantaneously they drop me through this secret tunnel and I land out on the street free to go. I rush home, completely freaked out. I go to tell my girlfriend (now wife) about what happened and her mother is there waiting for me. She tells me that that my GF was approached, shown a video, and decided to join the group to become the perfect citizen soldier.
