Hanna (Saoirse Ronan) is a teenage girl. Uniquely, she has the strength, the stamina, and the smarts of a soldier; these come from being raised by her father (Eric Bana), an ex-CIA man, in the wilds of Finland. Living a life unlike any other teenager, her upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one; sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Ms. Blanchett)

That looks like it could be very entertaining.

I really like Eric Bana for some reason.

I'm anxious to see this. Joe Wright is a fantastic filmmaker, these are all good to great actors, and I really dig the premise.

so, it wasn't quite what I expected. The trailer makes it seem like it's nonstop action with this little girl being pursued ala Bourne.

Instead, it's more of a girl discovering the modern world with the occasional extremely violent incident.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a good movie but if you've seen the trailer, you've essentially seen all the action sequences in the movie save 1 or 2.

The baddies aren't really that menacing but do the job. Blanchett coulda been just a lil meaner.

There's some comic relief in that other little girl you see in the trailer.

When Hanna works, the credit goes mostly to Ronan. She’s watchable partly just because of her incredibly piercing blue eyes, which the film focuses on intently.

Overall, it could have been more serious but as it's PG13, it's toned down a bit.

3/5
