So... a couple of days ago I received a text from my friend, asking about a live recording of a song that I showed him many years ago. I immediately knew which one he meant, and to my surprise and joy, this particular live recording was sitting almost on top of my CD stack which I had just moved to my new apartment.

I put the disc on, and OH Lord, what this particular performance does to me is stronger than any other song I ever heard. I just can not sit still ! ! !

After listening to it for the second night in a row, I started thinking two things: 1. there are so many pearl jam concerts I haven't heard - there are bound to be some other gems out there, which, even though I doubt they can surpass it ;) at least come close to the feeling this song gives me. (I think I heard maybe 20 or 30 shows, not a lot compared to many people here I know, but anyways)
2. if both my friend and I love this song so incredibly much, maybe I should share it on a forum and maybe somebody else can discover it too... So.. if you have another live performance of a song that can rock me the way this one does, please direct me to it! :)

Ah, yeah, the song I was talking about... :) Betterman (with Save it for later tag), from State College, 2003 (May 3rd).

All the best

Let me get one in before chud says something from Boston or Albany or dime says Hail, Hail from Letterman.

Porch from Zurich 1992 is my current favorite, but it changes from time to time.

Welcome to the board, I think your world is about to get a lot bigger friend!

Members of this board have put together many compilations over the years of standout live performances, many of which you'll find links to in the Live and Trading forums.

If that Better Man rocked your socks, check this one out from Seattle 2000:

Angus, you and I aren't all that different.

I love this version because it's where Ed goes all RATM with his "fuck 'em just to see the look on there face" rap.

"Come Back" from Philly 2...without a doubt my all-time favorite performance.
