I just downloaded a few books on CD to listen to while driving. The problem is that these files are huge! It would take around 25 cd's for one of these books. Is there anyway to compress or change the format somehow to fit onto the cd. I don't care about quality as it's just books on CD, not actual music.

I think I'm just going to buy a Dell DJ and put the files on there, then use an FM transmittor to play it in my car. I've wanted to get one for a while anyway.

What's the bitrate on 'em? For spoken word, there's no harm in bringing it down a bit - try 64, and work from there.

Yep, just ask Stevie Ray Vaughan.

But unless he has a CD player in his car that plays mp3s, he would have to burn them as audio, and there's no way to shorten the running time. I would also recommend an mp3 player.

Yeah, but that only applies if you've actually READ the part about him wanting to play them in his car! :)

Whoops.
