When Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds was first announced, the fighting game community threw up its collective arms in maddened celebration. At least, that's what the IGN fighting game community did. Unfortunately, details have been hard to come by, but the latest issue of Game Informer has a few tidbits that fighting game fans will want to hear.

The article touches on a number of things, but a good portion of the text revolves around Capcom's design philosophy of "maximizing depth while minimizing complexity." It's true that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was a difficult game to jump into, but the fact that Capcom is trying to make Fate of Two Worlds approachable to all might worry some gamers. After all, the people that devoted years of their life to learning the ins and outs of combat (our own IGN Guides Editor Mark Ryan Sallee being a perfect example) might be disappointed if Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has less depth, but it appears that Capcom is taking steps to ensure that every player will be satisfied.

The article details the new exchange button, which is a standalone command designed for launching your opponent into the air. The button, when combined with a directional input, can also be uses to ground slam an opponent, as well as launch additional juggles while airborne.

The Game Informer article also devotes a page to some of the known combatants: Chris Redfield, The Hulk, Dante, Captain America, Felicia, Wolverine, Morrigan, Deadpool and Iron Man. Most of the character bios here were fairly standard, but we did take delight in seeing that one of Deadpool's special moves actually features the mercenary using his own health bar to beat his opponent up.

Also of note, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is being built on the MT Framework engine, which was used in Lost Planet 2 and Resident Evil 5. Also, Producer Ryota Niitsuma mentions that several characters, like Dante, where not used in the recently released Tatsunoko vs. Capcom specifically so they could be "saved" for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Perhaps this means we'll still see some big names announced for Fate of Two Worlds.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is scheduled to launch next year. And we can't wait.

More characters announced: Doctor Doom, Chun-Li, Super Skrull, and Trish from Devil May Cry:

Love the Super Skrull utilizing the Fantastic Four's moves.

I heard great things about it, specially that all characters are very unique and well balanced.
