Eddie's not a great frontman. Fantastic singer, and hypnotic in his own way (and he's gotten much better), but not what I usually think of when I think of a frontman

He was a great frontman in the early 90s what with his climbing on scaffolding and all.

i dunno, i think he's gotten worse if anything. id much rather him still think he's a monkey climbing stuff then pretending to be bruce springsteen.

I've always thought of eddie as a pretty great frontman. He keeps your attention, engages the crowd..
Matt bellamy from muse is no.1 right now, i caught a show of thiers on tv once and he barely said two words to the crowd. I'm so used to Eddie talking/rambling to the audience that i found that kind of off putting lol.

I dont see how Eddie isn't a great frontman, he completely takes over the concerts and to people that arent PJ fanatics, Eddie is the only member of the band most people can name(maybe Eddie and Mike.)
You can be a great frontman without going on a rant.
I didn't mean rants, i meant more then a 'hows it going' at the beginning of a concert and a 'thank you good night' at the end.
That seems awfully inconsequential in the grand scheme of the show.
Eh probably. I wasn't saying talking is what makes eddie such a great frontman specifically, just that comparitively i found matt bellamy to be unengaging due to his lack thereof. Was just an observation. And im not saying matt bellamy is a shit frontman either, i kinda like muse, ignoring thier last album.

I thought this was probably the worst and most incorrect statement I've ever seen on an internet message board. Then I read it again and realized you said "what I think of"
I take it you mean the dudes who think and act like they are "rock stars"
Eddie Vedder is way above and beyond those douches. Usually people with talent become artists and the "frontmen" become rock stars because they are more an act than a talent.
