These are all bands that I have been fortunate enough to see live in concert. I have some all time favorites that would surely be on this list if I had ever been lucky enough to attend one of their shows (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead to name a few). I hope you enjoy the list and encourage you to post your own. Without further ado...

PHATJ's Top 10 Live Acts

1. Pearl Jam

2. Roger Waters

3. Mute Math

4. U2

5. Ween

6. Dave Matthews Band

7. Stone Temple Pilots

8. Coldplay

9. Beck

10. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

I can't rank them, or even keep it at 10, but the best shows I've been to would include:
The Tragically Hip
Dr. Dog
Cloud Cult
Pearl Jam
Wolf Parade
Sunset Rubdown
Sigur Ros
Arcade Fire
Jeff Tweedy/Wilco (cant decide between the whole band or Jeff solo)
Bon Iver
Deer Tick

Judas Priest
Maceo Parker

Presidents of the U.S.A. (yes, I said it)
Eric Clapton

I've seen hundreds of live shows. I'm sure a lot of you have too. But I am usually very critical of live shows, and these are the ones that stand out to me as being great.

the fact that no one has listed The Black Crowes yet is offensive they are better live than 90% of the bands listed so far.

I've seen a lot of great live acts, but only one needs to be mentioned (since he's easily the best): Bruce Springsteen.

I don't understand how Ozzy gets mentioned twice in this thread. I've seen him before and while it was funny for a while, I couldn't call it a great gig. Let alone one of the greatest live acts out there.

I saw Ozzy in his early solo days and the shows were phenominal. He could actually speak and sing then, and wasn't a caricature of himself yet.

Same goes for The Who. The show I saw them do in 81 or so was amazing and by far the best show I've seen. The Tommy reunion tour sucked.

I've seen Ozzy where he sucked and Ozzy where he tore it up. Depends on his meds that day I think.

My dad still rates Black Sabbath as one of the best gigs he's ever seen. 1973 I think. Along with AC/DC's first tour in Europe when they were quite unknown just before Let there be rock was released.
