Rapper Nate Dogg found dead

Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Dr Dre collaborator passes away at age 41

Rapper Nate Dogg has died at the age of 41.

His death was confirmed late last night (March 15) in his home town of Long Beach, California by the Press-Telegram. The cause of death is not yet confirmed.

Dogg, real name Nathaniel D Hale, had suffered two strokes previously – one in 2007 and another in 2008.

The rapper made his debut on Dr. Dre's 1992 debut solo album 'The Chronic' and went on to sign with Death Row Records. He also collaborated with Eminem, Ludacris, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg and Warren G.

He released three studio albums of his own, most recently his 2004 self-titled effort.

Writing at Twitter.com/50cent, 50 Cent wrote: "RIP Nate Dogg, the rap world just lost a great legend. This is your time."

He also recalled '21 Questions' – his 2003 song that Nate Dogg featured on. "I wrote the chorus to '21 Questions' – I needed Nate to sing it for me," he wrote. "He had a way of making everything feel hard."

Ludacris, who Nate Dogg also collaborated with, tweeted from Twitter.com/ludacris: "There is a certain void in hip-hop's heart that can never be filled. Glad we got to make history together."

Snoop Dogg has also paid tribute to Nate, describing him as his "best friend".
