Given that Ed dominated Vitalogy and No Code, i tend to think that its ok if he is in charge. I suspect he had more control over Yield as well. but now it seems that he (and Mike) have gone off on some new age happy happy joy joy thing, so maybe its not a good idea any more.
i kinda feel like the democracy approach leaves their albums without any identity, and they end up as a random collection of songs. somebody has to put it all together.

It was B O'B's idea? wow. The implication being Ed will control or manipulate their output if he was there? or not?
I dont really think it's been successful. If they keep it up we'll just end up getting x amount of rock songs and x amount of quiet eddie songs to keep him happy sorta thing. Though as you said Spenno, if the songs are great who cares, but some cohesiveness on Backspacer and what is to follow would be nice. It sounds like it was written apart and in different places.

Didn't want to start a whole new thread for this, but the new BOAT album has a "Yield" illustration on the cover. Nice to see it included with some other really classic albums, I'm guessing it's a collage of this band's/guy's favorite albums.

Ok, here it goes again! What is your favorite Pearl Jam Record? Or 2 favorites?? I like Yield cause it was the first time I had confidence to write songs. Backspacer cause it was fun to record.
