The album finally fully clicked with me. I liked it from the beginning for sure, but currently I'd rank it above The Hawk is Howling and probably Happy Songs too (which I should listen to again, as it's been a while). There are some really great tracks on this album.

I didn't get tickets for the Boston show because I was expecting to be out of town, but it turns out I'll be around. I'm seriously considering paying whatever I need to scalp some tickets since they appear sold out.

you're Lionel Richie is one of the better songs of HWNDBYW but live is where it just blows you away!!! Massive track :nice:

It's a bit better than that, but yeah, they can keep doing their thing and I'll keep enjoying it. Personally I think they've never done anything quite as uplifting as White Noise before. Absolutely love that song.

I had that with How to be a werewolf. Big sense of happy freedom floating around in that one. Video really suits it.

its a little more light and fluffy than their other stuff. but in a good way. i love How to be a Werewolf.

Man, for all the praise Mogwai gets for their--gasp--"loud/soft dynamic," I think what really keeps me coming back to this band is what great melodists they are. I mean, they're usually just little 5-6 note passages, but because of the way they're presented each note carries a lot more weight. A fine album.

Yep, that's why their middle/late stuff is my favorite.

Absolutely, I've seen them 4 times last year and it wouldn't be punishment seeing them that times two this year.

Yep, that's why their middle/late stuff is my favorite.

I like it all--there's definitely some fine melodic prowess even all the way back on "Ten Rapid," but yeah, I know what you mean.

Are you familiar with the Travels in Constants EP from 1999? Probably my favorite Mog tune of all-time on there, "Untitled":
