The purpose of these threads is to take the time and go back and listen to the Pearl Jam bootlegs you remember but haven't sat down with in a long time. What did you think? Is it what you remembered? Give the album a spin and talk about it.
We'll start at the beginning, and go one show at a time every few days until we've made our way up to present day.

I don't get it. What's this thread about?
It's a place where we can have empassioned, no-holds-barred debate about our experiences paying a return visit to the first time our favorite band ever appeared in public as a collective whole. And so far, we're sucking at it.

If I had this on the iPod right now I'd give it a listen. I think this is a great idea. I always check out the "What Bootleg Are You Listening to?" thread to see what folks are into. This can take that a step further, as someone might point out a particularly good version of a song, or good banter, etc.
Good on ya, Kevin!
As for this show...it is what it is...raw, and not many of these songs were fully realized.

No, but if you buy a 1 or 2 TB drive online and have it shipped to me, and then paypal me the cost of shipping it to you, you'd end up with a really cool collection.

How amazing is it that the first performance of the band was recorded? Plus, this was before the popularity of Ten. I think it's an incredible piece to any PJ Bootleggers collection. A must have!

Well, 1.000.000 young bands who go and play in pubs record their first shows. With the background Jeff & Stone already had at that point, is it really a surprise this was recorded?

Yeah the guy who taped it labeled the tape "Untitled Stone Gossard/Jeff Ament Post Love Bone Project" or something like that

...and 999,999 of those young bands fail and no one cares about those bands. So that's a 1 out of 1,000,000 chance that you'll care that a band's first gig was recorded.
