Good album. Lo-fi blues/rock/folk.

this disappointed me. his other works are awesome, and I was hoping for more out of his Matador debut, but it left something to be desired. There's a handful of phenomenal tracks, but on the whole it's just way too drone-y and drags.

I fucking love "Freak Train," though. one of my favorites this year.

I thought this album was in your top 10 list?

that and Constant Hitmaker (his best record), as well as any EP's under his name, are all worth checking out.

But I caught him live last August and he didn't really do it for me and as a result I have no interest in hearing this. Yet, I really liked Constant Hitmaker.

I have "God is Saying This to You" and "Childish Prodigy." Can't wait to see him at P-fork.

Missed this thread somehow. I've got the same two as J. Great stuff.

I don't think this song can be overhyped right now. So good.

I hate this guy's name, 'cause whenever I'm talking to somebody and they mention they like him, I get excited thinking they're talking about Kurt Weill.

Late to the show here but i think his newest album that came out this year is pretty goodand i caught him live last night and enjoyed it.

They did a really cool cover of Springsteen's Downbound Train.

I would like to hear that cover.

I definitely like what I've heard from this guy.

I don't know if I like his latest record. But God Is Saying This to You and Childish Prodigy are still terrific.

I really like him on record but the one time I saw him live he sounded terrible. But I cut him slack because he was a last minute fill-in opening for the Black Keys and because he's from Philly. 8)
