Past Tournaments: ** Battle of the RMers ** -- September 2005 ** Battle of the RMers II ** -- March 2006 *** Battle of the RMers III *** -- February 2007 Battle of the RMers IV -- February 2008
-----
RULES & REGULATIONS:: -Similar to Battle of the Bands, except you're drafting RM Posters, they can have a presence in all forums of this board or just exclusive to certain forums. This is suppose to be a fun interactive GD experience, only to enhance all our posting ability.
-Team Captains will be determined in this thread by themselves posting a two word post "I'm Captain".
-There will be a draft of 6 rounds, with the first round automatically being of all the captains. Which leaves the remaining 5 as a regular snake-style, random.org draft order.
-During the Drafting Process it is encouraged that the RMers that are not Captains, but want to be included into this tournament to "pimp" yourself out, not annoyingly, to all captains and say that you'll be an asset to the team that drafts you. This means point them in the reasons why your posts, threads, and board accomplishment would benefit the teams for a Battle Tournament win.
-Available RMers to be drafted are anybody on the memberlist.php
-RMers that have been BANNED are acceptable draftees.
-One spambot or Multiple Account can be drafted by a Captain, this is different from past "Battle of the RMers". But we need to spice this up a bit. So you can draft the Primary Account and then that same/different team can draft someone's second account (if it's a known second account of said person that was drafted). Exception to this rule is that if a person has more than 2 accounts you can't draft that person's 3rd/4th/5th...nth account.
-For a week after the Draft your team can make up a Team Thread Page were you can smack talk others, post hilarious photos, gifs, photoshops, etc., Opponents can post in these team threads, but remember your a guest in their thread and be respectful, but you can smack talk them. (Keep it respectful to others though, remember it's only a game)
-After the week of build up and smacktalking we will go into the voting round to see who's team is most beneficial to the hilarity of RM and GD. All RMers are encouraged to vote, but only vote once per round.
-PENALTY - If you miss your designated draft time deadline, the draft moves on, you'll be able to make-up your "missed" pick whenever, but you lose your spot in the following round and will have to wait till the end of that round to be placed on the clock.
This is the Official Announcement/PM that you'll receive when it is your turn: Code: ROUND # Name of Recent Team has made a pick at 12:00a/pm (EST).
On The Clock, A PM has been sent to Team On The Clock and has until 12:00p/am (EST) to make a pick, (12-Hour Deadline) the weekend rule is no longer in affect, so the PENALTY will be issued if deadline is exceeded. --------- weekend rule = It's a 24 Hour On The Clock Deadline, and the PENALTY will be waived.
Team Captains: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
This is getting esolc

Tonight was 'opening day' at Security Field where I'm working at the Fox Den for the baseball season. This was the first night that I worked in the store, and wow was it freaking busy. I sold so many blankets, sweatshirts, and beanies! This was because of fans that came to the game unprepared for the cold weather. I swear I must have sold over 100 blankets. At $32 a pop for a blanket? whewwww.
For the first 30 minutes after the gates opened they had bag pipes playing, which sort of made sense because earlier in the afternoon I wondered why the hell some guy would wear a kilt to the game considering how cold it was.
The highlight of my night was two guys that patronized the den. One was swapping out his Detroit Tigers cap for a Sky Sox cap. We talked about both having moved to Colorado and how we'll probably have to become Rockies fans now. I asked about which cap he would wear if both the Tigers and the Rocks go to the World Series, and he grinned and waved his Tigers hat at me as he went out the door.
Nice.
The second was a guy from southern MI. He was swapping out his Red Wings beanie for a Sox beanie. He told me about how his Irish grandparents got off the boat and found themselves in an all Polish neighborhood in Detroit, so that's how his family learned how to fight and play hockey. His uncle and another relative of his played for the Wings is what he told me. So I told him where I was from and he said "oh I know where that is! It's right here!" and he held up his hand and pointed right to the Saginaw Bay.
It was nice to talk to a couple of strangers with a familiar place in common.
Most retail jobs are grueling. But this one isn't. It's light hearted and fun.
To sum it up. I really really really hope I get to meet Fox the Sox at some point.

do you fear fred mojito?
i marinate my flank and skirt steaks in my very own original variant of mojo sauce, so no
It really is a kosmic jelly.
Porch has a great MELODY. You know, a succession of notes that doesn't just halfheartedly fill in the gaps left by the guitar riff. A memorable, passionate, feverish buildup. A jam that-- yeah, sometimes doesn't really go anywhere, but is often really good. Lyrics that, although far from the height of lyrical prowess, DON'T sound written by that jackass from Sum 41. Now, I've never been a big fan of Pearl Jam's lyrics, but it seems to me that with S/T Eddie fell to the murky depths of hamfisted poeticism.
