This was news maybe a year ago. Its just a poor imitation of George. Two seconds into the tape you could immediately tell it was an impostor and wasn't worthy of paying attention to.
But it would be kind of cool if that's been William Campbell up onstage for all these years.

I just saw it on Netflix instant and decided I'd give it a go. What's really sad is that it could have been kind of interesting if it had just been a "documentary" about the myth, and dropped all the forced Harrison stuff. It doesn't need the gimmick. In fact, the gimmick prevents it from being watchable. You feel like by finishing the thing, the dude pulled one over on ya.

I know someone who believes the entire thing was Lennon's way of messing with the public because of all the flak he took over the Jesus comment. No idea how plausible that is, but its interesting nevertheless.
Say for argument's sake that Paul McCartney did die in a car crash early on and was replaced by a double. Where would this stand in terms of conspiracy theories? As a Beatles fan, it'd make it one of the most fascinating theories ever, right up there with JFK and aliens and all that other crap.

I agree. It would be pretty major.
It's funny I have a friend who believes Lennon came up with the idea also. But he believes Lennon came up with the idea to fake all of it so that he could fake his own death later and no one would think twice about it. Sort of a boy who cried wolf kinda thing. He thinks Lennon is alive and well.

My friend is an idiot.
at least he's not a "i'm gonna make a documentary and probably blow my life savings doing it to prove my theory" level idiot. take solace in that.

Has anyone taken the time to read that article I linked to? I'd actually like to get someone else's thoughts on it. I still don't really buy it, but I admit that some of the evidence has got me thinking, specifically when it comes to his alleged change in height.

all of those things are mainly based on the confirmation bias. A lot of the things that they argue in pictures are all just a matter of perspective and that no two photos of someone are that much alike.

Lame.
But the myth is fascinating to me.
My favorite part of the myth is the "I Buried Paul" in Strawberry Fields, I know it's supposed to be "Cranberry Sauce," but it definitely sounds like "I Buried Paul."

The height thing is complete BS. Paul was always slightly taller than John. In all the photos, he's still slightly taller than John. When you factor in angles and posture, there's no real change.
As far as I'm concerned, this whole thing was cleared up by Chris Farley at 1:50.

I really thought he was saying "I Buried Paul" for the longest time. John said some weird shit in his day. Though, "Cranberry Sauce" might be even weirder in context.
I always liked the "Turn Me On Dead Man" part of the myth. Creepy.
