for future generations to discover, which would you choose? (I'm presuming that all other traces of their music/history/etc. have vanished.)

Even though I come back to Binaural more than the others, I would choose

Yeah, it's got to be Vitalogy.

Yeah, definitely Vitalogy. I like Binaural and Riot Act more, but you really cant start with those if you are trying to get into PJ.

I wonder if they'd get the sarcasm in "Do The Evolution."

I'd probably pick Binaural. If this was the only thing going.

Is this about "getting people into PJ"? I'd argue it isn't for me. I'd argue that this is a document which I consider representative of my ideal Pearl Jam. Or the quintessence of what I want the Pearl Jam to be about, regardless of whether their entire career bared out that ideal.

Jorge, kill the suspense and tell me what you stuck in the time capsule.

gonna have to cast one for S/T. While many other PJ masterpieces have higher highs (and lower lows), S/T presents many aspects of PJ's sound (perhaps their most diverse recording next to Vitalogy and Binaural), and does so in a consistently excellent manner.

Yield, No Code, and Ten are probably closer to my heart than S/T, but I think future generations will discover what lies at the heart of Pearl Jam in no finer manner than within the minutes of Avocado.

Which Al Jolson record should they have put in a time capsule? I go with Avalon.

Roxy Music's Avalon will certainly help humanity v. 2.0 spread their seed and multiply rightly well.
