I don't recall ever seeing a thread about them on here. They were a 90's band with Troy Van Leeuwen in it and "Stuck On You" was a pretty big single from them. Good band. Anyone else like em?

very good band... Maynard from Tool was a huge fan as well

Ken Andrew's "Year of the Rabbit" project was pretty good, but short lived

My fiance loves these guys. Other than a few songs, I never got the appeal.

random thread. i actually had a track from them (pitiful) on some compilation album or another at one point. i seem to remember them, the poster children, some other random bands.

i liked them then (around 1996 or 97), i would likely not like them now.

Fantastic Planet is one of my all-time favorite albums. Failure is great. Check out Year of the Rabbit and ON - lots of good music there. Ken Andrews also has a solo CD Secrets of the Lost Satellite which is also pretty good. There was a project he started a few years back called LA Digital Noise Academy but it has only produced a couple of songs. He hasn't released an album since 2007, I think.

I think it is. Failure's is a lot louder, I guess that's how I would put it. APC's is very subdued in comparision.

I remember hearing about this band, but never really getting into them. Pretty cool. Thanks for the reminder.

Before the APC cover was released on the album, they did a straight cover live. I greatly prefer the straight cover, and think that Failure's version is significantly better than the APC album cover.

I think there are a couple of keys to liking Failure, or more particularly Fantastic Planet:

1. If you don't like the flat affect of Ken Andrews' vocals, they aren't for you.
2. Failure's sound depends a lot on repetition and feedback, with many songs being a slow building burn. Gotta love that guitar tone though.

Fantastic Planet is one of my favorite albums and it deserves to be cranked at full volume, not on ipod speakers.

It is not even close. Failure's version is way way way better.

Also, they do a cover of Enjoy The Silence which I think is better than the original:

Failure is so awesome.
