Anyone else watch the South Carolina Republican Primary debate last night? Any opinions on who is running/will run? Who will be the challenger to Obama?

Im happy just to see the Rebuplican Party unable to put forth a half way credible candidate. (not like they were before)

The party is exposed for the flaming pile of shit it is. (of their own doing, of course)

Why does that make you happy?
I mean, why wouldn't you want to see a decent race between two credible candidates?

Romney and Daniels are the only GOP candidates with half a brain.

Romney comes off like a dick. Daniels comes off like the right-center version of Obama's left-centeredness.

Hey, I am not arguing about the candidates. I don't even know much.
Just saying it is a bit immature and short sighted to cheer that the people running to lead our country are idiots. I would find such a thing sad myself.

The real proof of just how accurate a reflection of the thought process that is lies in the fact that even the people who recognize it generally end up voting for one party 90% of the time.

I think it would be good to put a progressive independent out there. Grab the goofy t party cause they are so dumb anyway and anyone disinchanted with Obama. Not that I dont like my favorite Mason.

I'm not sure I get what you're saying here. How is that not just an indication that they agree with the one party more often? That seems to be the Occam's Razor explanation here.

Or, in less important races, just assume they agree with the candidate from that party more if they're voting party line. I don't see how that fits into winning for the sake of winning.

Not like this is a new thought process. As the election comes closer people are always saying things like, "I hope ____________ [insert Palin, Michelle Bachmann, etc.] gets the nomination, that'll guarantee a victory for [insert party]."

It would be nice if there were solid candidates, and more than 2 parties, really.

Voting by the people?

How about congressional/senate rulings/voting in general. When Congress/Senate is voting on an issue all the deomcrats vote one way and all the republicans vote the other way.

Now do you think that was because each individual politician carefully weighed the pros and cons of the issue and came up with his or her own independent opinion and vote? Or do you think that there was some "talking amongst yourselves" going on up in there?
