Melissa Etheridge kind of jumped out at me. I have no problem with her, but I can't recall the last time I actually saw her or heard about anything she did. She may have been a bit Iconic hero as a brave open lesbion when she had her big record several years ago, but what has she done for me lately?

I would have thought for 2005, Ellen Degeneres would have been a better choice.

Also, Bill Gates, Hero/Icon??
Jay-Z, Builder/Titan?

And who is the Halo Team?

She has recovered from breast cancer and has been a leading figure in the breast cancer awareness movement for the past year or so.
