subway's super average, but i still have a sweet spot for their meatball sub (with mayo ) that i used to eat all the time in college by scamming the stamp system.
For as big as Chicago is, I still haven't found a sandwich shop/deli to my liking.
Augustino's
Potbelly's is pretty good

tortas at Xoco/Frontera Fresco
I don't speak the spanish. Where is said dining establishment, and can I get a decent italian sandwich there?
haha, no. it's really not your standard sandwich shop; it's mexican street food. the sandwiches are probably the best i've ever had though.
Well, I do like tortas. Where is it? I'm always looking for new, off-the-wall places to try.
xoco's in river north at clark & illinois, next to rick bayless' other restaurants. frontera fresco is on the 7th floor of the macy's department store in the loop - it's a little cheaper than xoco and has most of the same sandwiches.

I remember when xoco's opened about a year or more ago. Bayless served people personally for the first day. I'll have to try Frontera soon -- I work about 5 blocks from there.
