Anyone have a good monologue they want to suggest? I'm thinking Laertes warning Ophelia about getting involved with Hamlet (I, iii; "think it no more") but I am open to others. Would like something age appropriate and dramatic as opposed to comedy.

Iago, thanks in advance. :haha:

Speak trippingly on the tongue, whatever you choose

I've always liked the Hamlet at the end Act 2, tearing himself to shreds before letting us know that the play's the thing...

OR

The Hamlet in the middle of Act 4 before he heads off to England w/ R&G -- a Hamlet with a brand new resolve.

Good luck!

Sweet, thanks. I should have mentioned that Hamlet and Claudius have already been cast, so I am sort of leery of doing Hamlet myself. Honestly I would probably be thrilled to play a tree in Hamlet and this should be a good production. I will definitely check those out.

Thought about that one too. The main thing is I want to be age appropriate, which is why I was keen on Laertes. In my experience it helps to be as close to the character as possible.

If not the scene you mentioned betw. Laertes and Ophelia, how about something from Act 4?

Laertes commenting on Ophelia's madness

or

Laertes scheming with Claudius (although I don't know if there's anything from Laertes long enough during that scene).

Like I said, would be cool with pretty much anything. Laertes is the biggest part left that I could get probably, would also love Horatio, Rosencrantz or Guildenstern.

Guys, I really think that Orpheus should do something from Othello.
