The new album from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, called I’m With You, is in stores on August 30th. The first single, “The Adventures of Raindance Maggie,” will be out on July 18th.
I'm really curious to hear what they do now that they don't have Frusciante. On previous albums he really settled into the role of adding all kinds of interesting instrumentation in the overdubbing process, adding harmonies and other sonic stuff. Now that he's gone, and Dave Navarro's not the replacement, I hope this isn't that bad, but I'm still kinda wary.

It's been five years since the last record and for being one of my favorite bands, I almost just want them to hang it up. I know Josh has worked with them before, but I just get the feeling this is going to suck and not work out for the band.

"The record was produced by their longtime collaborator Rick Rubin and will feature the debut of the band's new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer."
As I remember it, Frusciante left basically because he no longer got anything out of the band. His tastes had evolved and he no longer felt like he was in the same musical space as the rest of the group.

Stadium Arcadium sounded awful. Way too many mediocre songs as well. Not to mention the fact that they regressed rather than progressed after By The Way.
