Starting yesterday apparently, your honeymoon with Gary Sheffield is OVER. You guys got your one season Sheff always gives his newest team before his true colors come raging out...He did his one yr of shutting up and just playing ball and putting up huge stats to show hes such a great player....

But its season 2, and already Sheff is letting the REAL sheff come out and play. The Shefield that is a scum-sucking, racist, dirtbag of a human, let alone a selfish surly, clubhouse cancer of a steroids-cheating baseball player.

Rip me a new one for daring to speak ill of the yankees if you will, but by october youll see Im right. He did it in Milwakee, he did it in Florida, he did it big time to the dodgers (yes im a dodger fan), he started to pull this shit in Atlanta before realizing he was a FA and didnt have to force a trade.....

Im sorry, because whether a fan loves or hates the yankees, NO TEAM should have to endure the bullshit that is Gary Sheffield.

I worked in a clubhouse when he was in the minors...he always kept to himself but was always a nice guy..he gave me a couple of bats

my point is that he acts this way EVERY year. He pulled this crap WHILE he was signing with the Yankees, and he did it in his SI interview last summer.

I know you're probably pissed the Dodgers traded him for a broken down Brian Jordan and Odalis "I suck in the playoffs" Perez, but that's no reason to make stuff up about him.

As a Yanks fan, I think it is a legitimate possibility that Sheff has the ability to get frustrated with his situation more easily than most, and could do so with the Yanks.

Like a few others who just joined the team, he probably figured he's be visiting the World Series come October no problem. Now that the bubble has burst and the Yanks feel a little pressure, some of the players' true natures are more apt to come out quicker.

However, as long as the yanks are at the head of the pack throughout the season (and I have no doubt they will be), I doubt you'll hear the kind of crap that Sheff has been known for in the past. The fans love him, and respect what he was able to do last year with a bum wing. If he continues to do well, along with the team as a whole, there should be fewer and fewer opportunities in the press for him to say stupid things that make him look bad. I hope that's the case.

Regarding the errors w/ the Brewers, this was disproven a few years ago when someone went back and checked the box scores of the games in which he made two errors.....so you can stop bringing that up.

Like I said earlier in the thread, everyone knows Sheff can be an ass. But your theory regarding one year of good behavior is wrong, your hatred of him is sad, and this whole thread uneccessary.

I like Gary Sheffield alot. I actually immitated his batting stance with waving the bat in the air when i played baseball in high school. My teammates got a kick out of it, but my coach not so much
