this movie is probably my least favorite in terms of things banksy has done. i didn't hate it, but i was pretty underwhelmed.

There's much more I'd rather know than how banksy and co sold a bunch of their stuff through a pseudonym. it's cool what they did, but there's much more movie possible here. they probably could have cut several movies from that footage, this wasn't the one I cared to see. that being said the title is clever

i just watched the film, and this was pretty much how i felt.

it seems like the whole thing is a joke. and i don't just mean Guetta, but shepard fairey, bansky, space invader... its as if they've made a mockumentary of themselves... possibly right down to fantasized back stories, made up story lines, and faux broken-friendships.

i don't know, it was certainly entertaining, and visually i loved it, but thinking about it right now, i'm wanting my time back.

I feel like I enjoyed the movie more BECAUSE of these things. Yes, getting true, candid accounts/back stories of Banksy and other street artists would be way awesome, but because the whole movie essentially degenerates into a "this is how the art world really is" piece is much more profound to me. It doesn't really matter who these people are. Their art is what matters, sure, and the first half of the film shows that dedication and their willingness to go to extremes and break the law to express themselves in the most in your face way possible. That said, as soon as everyone catches on and there's money to be made, all of that is pretty much invalidated since anything worth seeing/doing/hearing/watching will inevitably be swallowed by the quest for the almighty dollar (Guetta). Sure, they're pulling a fast one on the audience, but really what else could they really do to get the point across?

so its one big piece?

i get that, and i like that, but i also find it bizarre that its called a "banksy film" while the movie is focused on Guetta.
i'm interested to see if Life Remote Control is an actual production at some point.

I really liked this when I watched it.

Anyone see that quick TMZ interview with Shepherd Fairey recently? They caught him in an airport or something with his wife and asked him about creating and hanging his street art. His wife said "that was a long time ago," inferring that he doesn't do that anymore or possibly pays people to do it for him. He got pissed and started berating her on camera, right in front of the TMZ donk. She lifted the curtain and he turned into a dick.
