The commercials make it look interesting. Dystopian future, dinosaurs, angry marines with assault rifles...what's not to like?

Too bad it's on network TV. It'll be cancelled before it's first season is finished because it doesn't pull Lost numbers and therefore can't justify the heavy price tag.

What's the premise.....are they going back to find something or to live? If it's to live it's the dumbest show ever.

To live i guess. All i've had to go on for premise is the preview.

Though one would hope there is more to it than just living with dinosaurs. Otherwise there wouldn't be much story to sustain more than a few episodes. There has to be a gimmick or a twist in there somewhere. My guess is this is a gritty reboot of Dinoriders.

If it were me I think 200,000 years ago would do me if I was trying to rebuild the human race. No giant lizards trying to eat me or massive extinction events.

Sure there are an infinite number of places in history a time travel capable society could start putting people but without having seen the pilot yet we have no way of knowing why they chose that specific time - hopefully that's something that is resolved with a reasonable explanation. Also the atmosphere was very different then than it is now, so i wonder if a human would even have been able to exist in that environment.

As for mass extinctions, the Cretaceous extinction happened 65 million years ago so that society would have about 20 million years to prep for it.

Anyways i'm genuinely interested to check it out. Who knows if it will be any good or not being a network show and all but i'll give it a chance, which is more than i can say for 99% of other network TV.

Okay I only ever had the interest in watching the beginning of this show, how they first go back in time. so I Dl'd the pilot. I did end up watching the whole thing, but not without skipping thru much of the 2nd hour, particular the action. The character and plot work on this show was so awful, holy god...

Spoiler: show
One of the more significant plot holes: if the wormhole is truly one way, you can't go back, then how do the people in 2149 know that it goes back 85mil years? Not to mention the security around access to the portal is a joke. A guy pays a worker off to sneak by one back room, climb one ladder, then literally just runs past and punches 2 guards out and hurls himself thru the portal.

The teenage son leaves behind a girl he's so conflicted about because he's desperately in love with her, and... pretty much has a new girlfriend within his first 3 hours there. I mean she's pretty hot, but geez. And almost all of the story/action of the 2nd hour comes from him (surprise!) being too stupid and arrogant to listen to any of the rules, and he runs off by himself and his new friends into restricted territory. I guessed immediately that said hot girl would be directly connected to the TN leader (Stephen Lang). Assumed he would be her further, but apparently her real father's gone, he's just a sort of surrogate. Same thing. And the wife is apparently hand chosen to be one of the specialist doctors for the whole project, you'd think she'd of been schooled beforehand on all of the methods being used in their medical unit. A giant leach being used to presumably suck the extra oxygen from someone's blood is a big shock to her.

Even if I knew this show would be lasting a long time, I still wouldn't keep watching it.

I watched the first 37 minutes, then deleted it from the DVR.

Awful.

Lazy writing, zero drama, and forced emotion and mystery. There was a lot of potential here, both from the family dynamics and the sci-fi premise, and they squandered nearly all of it.

As soon as I saw the first commercial for it, I looked over at my wife and said this show is gonna fail. Looks like I (and a lot of you) will be right. This has the same destiny as 'The Event', and from reading the post, sounds like is shares a lot of the same problems (forced mystery, not great character development, etc...).

So...Why do they have to go back in time? And why go (no pun intended) all the way back to the days of the dinosaurs? Seems like a stupid premises right off the bat.

You guys are all pretty much on the money. So many gaping plot holes that the writers didn't even try to explain away with magical TV science. I spent the whole time questioning the logic and science behind things...and besides that it's got a cast of one-dimensional characters muddling about in a contrived plot...overall it was pretty much what i expected from Fox, but optimistically i was hoping for something better.

I still like the concept though so i'll hold out for a few more episodes and see if they manage to develop things a little better before i give up.

I still maintain that they're building towards a DinoRiders reboot.
