Sounds good. You know who would love this? RM user: theplatypus. He's in a band of a very similar style with yours and he's always looking to trade notes with people. He rarely checks this forum though so you should send him a private message with the link and an introduction. He'd be thrilled, really, this is right up his alley!

Trying too hard.

"This guy at work was like, 'Steve, you know anybody in a band?' And I was like, 'I'm in a band.' And he was like, 'You're in a band?' And I was like, 'Yeah, I am totally in a band.'"
"Great story, man."

bateman's been a good sport, i think its time we listen to his band. I know we normally don't listen to a persons band until they hit 12,000 posts, but for him we can make an exception.

I'm a solo artist. The idea that i could get along with a bass player is laughable.

Well, this thread went down a storm....
I just thought it'd be cool to see if there was any decent unsigned bands out there that folks are listening to, but i guess i shoulda known better.
Don't sweat it. Nothing wrong with asking the question. I play and would love to be in a band, but haven't really pursued it. I'll be sure to check yours out.
As for the thread, see below. This used to be a good place to have adult discussions, but it's pretty rare nowadays. But hey, don't listen to me, after all, I have way under 1,000 posts.

oh we're being serious in this thread now are we?
i play in a few bands, but only one in which we've actually attempted to record anything semi-seriously. last year we self produced a demo. our singer sucks but it's all just for fun anyways. http://omaqk.bandcamp.com/
Another band i play in is mostly just for fun too. we've got a few songs but nothing properly recorded.
And the third "band" is just a catch-all for my home recording experiments. This would be the place where i put most of my serious work, but i just don't have much in a completed state as of yet. I hope to whittle much of it down and put out a record at some point.

I was in a three-piece indie-punk thing a couple of years ago. All of us were students and had jobs and we just didn't have enough time to get together to rehearse. I think we're getting together again soon, though.
I still play the guitar, cello and contrabass a lot, but just for fun. I should really start playing for people again, it's fun.
