written by the Scorpions called "The Wind of Change" - PJ lead guitarist Mike McCready is a big fan according to the Immagine in Cornice DVD story he told when meeting with PJ fans outside a hotel - you can listen to the song at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFh2vpGeoIk
I follow the Moskva Down to Gorky Park Listening to the wind of change An August summer night Soldiers passing by Listening to the wind of change The world is closing in Did you ever think That we could be so close, like brothers The future's in the air I can feel it everywhere Blowing with the wind of change Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow dream away in the wind of change Walking down the street Distant memories Are buried in the past forever I follow the Moskva Down to Gorky Park Listening to the wind of change Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams With you and me Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow dream away in the wind of change The wind of change Blows straight into the face of time Like a stormwind that will ring the freedom bell For peace of mind Let your balalaika sing What my guitar wants to say Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams With you and me Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow dream away in the wind of change

i had that song spinning in my head for hours at work last week
(along with totally ridiculous crap - i should make a playlist out of it someday)
going back to Wind of Change, it takes me back to that summer (1990?) when it was a big hit after the Berlin Wall came down. i remember that song and Queensryche's Silent Lucidity being on radio all the time. it's not a bad song and i quite like the sentiment but the back vocals that repeat some lines have aged badly.

I think Nick Cave's "Into My Arms" is quite beautiful:
