if the police would use tear gas or at least actually do somethinng except stand there and watch the looters this thing would have ended 3 days ago.
Watching the footage I am amazed at how passive the police are after day 3 of this bullshit.

over the last number of years the UK police have handled these situations a lot more robustly and supposedly 'innocent' bystanders were injured and the force and individual officers have been made culpable.

that and the fact the the British PM is cutting 20% of the force, combined to make them not really bothered to get to involved, or ao it would seem.

the big question here is they have no fear or cumpunction about using rubberbullets on UK citizens in Belfast, how come they don't use them in London?

it's all down to materialism and capitalism. these kids are poorly educated, bombarded with a consumer culture they can't afford to take part in, nor ver will, so the only way they can get this stuff is to steal it and smash everything and burn it if that fails.

Cameron recently said multiculturalism in abritain has failed. previous Tory governments have allowed that to happen but now it's coming home to roost.

So when does NATO start bombing the Cameron regime to liberate the people?

I tried to follow this as close as I could the last few days on social networks, streams & forums because of friends I have in Manchester & Croydon. My view:

1/ A small percentage may have to do with some of the reasons you talk about there.
2/ A big percentage is there just for the fun, because they get away with it, because they’re playing their computer games in real life, because it’s school holidays and they’re bored, because they’re sheep following the rest. They robbed & smashed a bloody Oxfam shop in Manchester. They burned the Electric Ballroom in London. They looted a shop with clothes for babies in London. Fuck all to do with grabbing a new smartphone. Putting this in an anti-capitalistic context is giving these cunts a reason to continue whereas for 90% of them, it’s ordinary thievery & violence for no social-economical-cultural-political reason at all.

I would almost say too bad it stayed calm in London last night. These kids haven’t got the slightest clue about politics, economics, socialism. The only thing they would understand is receiving a good beating and I know the Millwall hooligan firm was ready to do just that.

Just my view of course. I'm eager to hear from our London / Manchester residents to know more about it.

I live in Croydon. In fact I live roughly about 100 yards away from the House of Reeves Furniture Store that set ablaze. I could post photos & video from where I live but I'm at work at the moment.

I don't give a fuck what people say. This has got nothing to do with social deprivation, socio-economic factors or politics. This has everything to do with opportunistic little scumbags taking advantage of some woefully inadequate policing. The fact that a whole block of shops, a furniture store and several cars & buses went up in flames in my home-town and that someone tried to break-in to my home at 4am (they failed, I've got a heavy security door & double glazing) means I'm extremely fucking angry about this...

But I don't even know why I'm bothering, as I'll give it 5 posts before this thread is hijacked by the usual dickheads...

Hope you're safe and sound Spagg!

and I wasn't tryna imply that they're all anti-capitalist6 protestors, exactly the opposite, they're just wrecking and burning for the fun of it, but the marginilisation, constant materialistic media bombardment and lack of education there is a huge part of the reason it's happening.

"RIP Broken Britain.. You went soft on discipline!.. You went soft on immigration! You went soft on crime.. Parents were told.. 'No you can't smack the kids'....Teachers were prevented from chastising kids in schools.. The police couldn't clip a troublemaker round the ear.. Kids had rights blah blah blah.. Well done Britain..You shall reap what you sow.. We have lost a whole generation."

good take on it.

It's not only Britain though. It's the same in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, France... I - unfortunately - can perfectly see this happen in Brussels, Paris (a few years ago it kickstarted a little with the car burning thing), Rotterdam, Berlin, the Ruhr-cities, ...

Yup, definately. They should have brought out the water-cannons days ago. Instead cameron's been doing his 9am cobra meetings every morning while half the country burns down over night.

3 guys died in Birmingham yesterday, things might get pretty bad tonight.
