In typical U2 fashion, the boys have tried to one-up all deluxe and super-deluxe editions by a issuing an "Uber Deluxe Edition". Check out the pricing on it!
Not sure why it includes Zooropa. It would be a kick in the crotch if this was the only way to get the remastered version of Zooropa. They are also including the Sydney DVD, which was released a couple years ago.

If people have the money to spend I don't really care that the band puts it out. It doesn't contain any unique music. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying the 6 cd/4 dvd set for about $150. I trust U2 to do a good job on the packaging.

I'm torn between the Deluxe and Super Deluxe versions. I could do without 2 discs worth of remixes, but the rest of the Super Deluxe looks interesting.
It's Bono's innate propensity to make change playing out cathartically, I think. Forty-five remixes of "Even Better Than The Real Thing" are basically just his frustrations over his inability to facilitate change in the field of Ugandan foreign relations manifesting themselves in art. So don't blame U2--blame the world.

Achtung Baby and Zooropa are inextricably linked though, certainly in the bands minds. they were touring one while recording the other and doubtless a lot of the songs were born round the same time. not all, but some.
the big miss on this is the fact hat it's populated by 20 year old dance remixes everyone already has and no demos/alternative takes. so we're paying for packaging basically. which I'm sure will be great but not all that worth it. I'll pass.

The 6th disc is a completely alternate version of the album, and the 5th disc has quite a few demos and unreleased tracks, as well.

I'll be buying this just not sure what form yet, probably the Super Deluxe. Achtung is still my favorite U2 album so I feel obligated to buy this reissue just like I did for the Vitalogy set. A little sad I know, but I can't resist.

Well put Dime. I've always thought of Zooropa as a kind of 'addendum' to Achtung Baby.
