From another thread:

they should just officially release the entire show

Though there's always the chance that a lack of soundboard tapes could render the collection incomplete: Do you think Pearl Jam should do an archival "official bootleg" campaign for the years prior to 2000? Would this be a revelatory unvaulting, or just another excuse for fans to complain about how the audience recordings sound better than the official ones? Is it criminal that many of the band's key years are only available on bootlegs, while the years that signal what is generally perceived as a decline are readily available exhaustively in crystal clear quality? Would having all these shows easily accessible take some of the fun out of the collecting and digging?

Discuss.

obviously i'm in favor of releasing pre-2000 official boots, but...

i think this already happened. the "fun" was when you saw an overpriced bootleg in a cd store and got it b/c it had a bunch of live stuff you never heard before. those days are long gone

Having the pre-2000 sbd collection has just made me want official releases of a lot of these shows, but some in the collection are good enough that I don't necessarily want/need any official release. Make sense?

What is this "Pre 2000 SBD Collection" you speak of? Is this some illicit pirate product?

It's exactly what it sounds like: a collection of all the soundboard sourced bootlegs from the 1990s.

Am I the only one holding half a hope that they're going to release some of the older shows they've been digging up for the PJ20 soundtrack?

I'm trying not to get too excited by that type of speculation.

I'm sure this is gonna happen sometime. They know there's a market for these, and the costs of producing them are low, it's just a question of when...hopefully soon!!!
