Anyone into this guy? Downloaded Goblin the other day after seeing the video for Yonkers (which is a great fucking song) and have been pretty impressed. It's juvenile sometimes but overall the guy is extremely talented.

He's making much more interesting music than Jay-Z and Kanye West, so he's got that going for him, but his shtick does get a bit tired.

Yeah, I can pretty much only listen to half an album at any given time. Definitely going to keep an eye on him as he'll probably get better as he grows up a little bit.

Earl and Tyler will be a force once Earl is "free". He can rap.

I thought "Yonkers" was a pretty great track, but I listened to a few deep cuts on "Goblin" and thought they were pretty sloppy. Average flow, take-em-or-leave-em beats, and an act that gets tired fast. Right now he's all potential--a healthy break from his teen years and a sharper editor's sense will do him a world of good in harnessing it.

Tyler is just a slick character that has a some rapping ability. He could make it as an actor or something I'm sure. Just a flat out entertainer. Seriously, Hoddgy, Tyler, and Earl all together are going to make great music.

This is not music. It's just kids who are trying to shock people and it's not working. Seriously. Stop trying to be hip and cool and listen to the actual music and words. The music is shit and the "rapping" is awful.

I'm a overachiever
So how about I start a team of leaders
And pick up Stevie Wonder to be the wide receiver

That's good stuff.

Here's an awesome track with Earl and Tyler. Keep in kind these guys were 16/17 years old at the time (maybe 17/18). Pretty talented kids.

(video isn't imbedding for some reason.)

i've never enjoyed this type of lyric. one reason i've never gotten into rap, mostly.

yeah, i think boasting is part of it. but not the whole thing. it's not even that it bothers me. it just has no appeal to me. it doesn't strike me as especially clever/humorous. also, hopefully i can start more sentences with "it" next time i post.

I'm going to assume that you guys are retards (which you are). And that you don't know anything about hip-hop (which you don't). Odd future has everyone on their dicks because it's the cool thing to do. Real rap blogs like nahright.com wouldn't even put this shit on before everyone thought they were cool for liking them because the music was shit then and it still is now.

In a couple months there will some other group or rapper who will make you guys cool for liking them.

Keep reading pitchfork, in a few months they'll tell you who to like next
