I'm pretty sure Tim already said months ago it was something old that fans will appreciate having released but it's not something completely unknown - whatever the hell that might mean. So it doesn't sound like a new recording (unless it's a new re-recording of an old song like Falling Down, Puzzles & Games, etc.), I can't imagine what the delay is.
That said, I don't blame 10C for that - it seems like it's the band who can't be arsed making the single anymore.
Ladies and Gents I give you "Jeremy" the album version followed by "Better Man" album version.

Yep.
Of course, some super dude on the Pit immediately responded that he hoped it WASN'T old tracks and he'd prefer new songs.
(Because, of course, these guys are at the height of their songwriting powers and a few more along the lines of Santa Cruz and Turning Mist would be greatly preferable to a bunch of old soundboard junk from 1995 - I mean, they sucked back then, right?)

I don't get how you guys know this is Red Rocks '95. Jeremy's on the setlist, but not Falling Down.

I really hope this is the studio 'Falling Down'. The fact that the 'alternate' Jeremy from Red Rocks that was on the Lost Dogs Promo was audience sourced doesn't bode well...

Oh, I don't know - Brett may not have made a mixdown of the Red Rocks show, or Sony might not have had access to it even if he had, when that Lost Dogs working disc was compiled.
I don't think it's anything to necessarily worry about.

Wait, what?
The second Red Rocks show in 1995 is the one and only time Falling Down/Fallen Down has been played.
OK. I went to the concert chronology and word-searched 1995 for Red Rocks. I didn't realize there was a second show underneath the one I was looking at.

But what would have been the point of putting an aud recording of Jeremy on that disc, if they had any other version?

x-mas singles are meant to be fun throwaway things. That there have been a handful of real good songs to come out of them is a bonus. My expectations for these things are usually pretty low.

If you open up Lost Dogs and look at the spines on all the reels, Fallen Down is listed, so its probably something they've tried to record in the past. A rough demo of it would great, or even if they'd tried to re-record Jeremy in the studio in that new version, I'd take that. But if they're scrounging for 16 year old live tracks to give to their fanbase 9 months into the year, that's a pretty clear indication that they no longer really take this stuff that seriously anymore, at least not on the level their fans might want them to.
