Saw this last night. I was very surprised at how good this movie was. Great storyline and kept my interest from beginning to end. Would be interesting to do another that immediately follows this one but doubt they will.

I hope they don't. What would be the storyline? "THE APES ARE STILL ANGRY. LOOK AT THEM TAKE OVER OUR CITIES."

that's it, plat. Think about what a sequel might be for about four seconds, and write it off as stupid. Since a good idea is not immediately apparent to you (and who the eff are you?) a good idea obviously does not exist.

I think it would be a good bridge to the time of where apes ruled and humans are the slaves or resistance. How did some humans survive the disease and takeover? How did the apes build their civilizations? I think a good storyline could be drawn up from that. Jesus Jorge.

the apes building their civilizations sounds like a better book than movie.

At the heart of every classic story there's struggle. In this movie, it wasn't Apes vs. Man, but Apes vs. their own shackles; intellectual and physical. There's absolutely no pathos or dramatic struggle in your proposed sequel. We know the inevitable consequence because we saw it in the original Apes film. We don't need to see a 90 minute movie about apes building their civilization. Any sort of dramatic tension would feel artificial and tacked-on to churn out a traditional three-act story.

The modern storyline approach of "what patches of this story have we not shown the audience? We must show everything!" is lazy (why look for new, original stories when we can just make movies about the holes in continuity of our existing franchises?) overexplaining (none of the 3 Star Wars prequels were necessary, or any good).

Argo: Gee, sorry for hypothesizing about a movie on an internet discussion board. It's not like that's what the message boards are for or anything, you testy bitch.

It sounds like a good premise for a new Sims game. Cross-marketing, yes!

Listen, I'm pretty much an idiot, so take my opinion for what it's worth.
