Maybe Stone was under the weather that weekend and just not feeling that great....
Maybe its just his personality....he selectively gets excited or selectively expresses it
Playing with TOTD was sure a big deal...not the same as playing everyday with the same folks for 20 years.....so its natural that he got excited....also the nostalgia factor....I don't think its because it reminded him about how powerful he was back in the day....that's a BS theory.

I think this topic is being over analyzed.....the band's not breaking up anytime soon......enjoy the rest of the 2011 shows. And yes, there will be a PJ25 in 2016......

Not one iota of an idea about either of them.

When did Stone get the Les Paul with the Bigsby? I don't remember seeing it before this past weekend.

Same.

Were they bigger internationally than in the US?

Edit. Oh, wow. yeah they were. Most of their albums charted somewhere between 10-50 in the UK ... but only four of their albums ever even made the charts in the US and none did better than 106.

That made me think of this, which was a slightly different situation:

i can't get this to play at work--what is it?

I realise this might come across like I'm being unreasonably snooty, but that seriously blows my mind. I can't imagine how you guys wouldn't be aware of the song and the band, if only from absorbing popular culture.

I didn't know who they were

Its a clip of Dave Mustaine confronting Lars Ulrich in the Metallica documentary Some Kind Of Monster, trying to grasp why he was ousted from the band in the 80s.

First heard in 2010 boots and I think its there even on Live on Ten Legs. Had no clue about PIL though. Had to google up that term to know the L stood for Limited.

Have we gotten an answer as to why the "i" in "PiL" is lower case?

I doubt there's any real meaning to it, just a creative artistic choice.

I actually watched this the other day via Netflix instaqueue. Not that good of a movie, but OK in a cheesy 80's sort of way.

Just like Backspacer, which brings us full-circle!

Jewel of the Nile was better.

Jewel of the Nile was better.

Does that mean the next album will be better too?

Me either, I'm pretty sure this was its first appearance.

Nice choice there, Stoney.
