I'm pretty sure the Black Keys were formed by a graphic designer who needed an outlet for his love of vintage fonts.

The Black Keys' Second Hip-Hop Album, BlakRoc 2, Is Not Actually Happening
Drummer Patrick Carney says trailer was unauthorized
By Carrie Battan, September 26, 2011 4:14 p.m. CT

A few weeks ago, a trailer surfaced for BlakRoc 2, the second album from BlakRoc, the collaborative hip-hop project from the Black Keys and Damon Dash. It didn't offer up a release date, but it advertised a list of guests including Talib Kweli, the Cool Kids, Wiz Khalifa, Jay Electronica, U-God, Jim Jones, OC, and Sean Price.

But DoneWaiting points to a recent video interview with Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney, done for Atlanta radio station 92.9 Dave FM. Carney says, "Blakroc 2 is not coming out soon... there are no plans for that." He says that the trailer is actually an unauthorized video that was pieced together about two years ago. They recorded "about eight songs" two years ago, but the album was never completed. A publicist has confirms that there is no release date set for Blakroc 2. The trailer was posted on the YouTube channel of Damon Dash's DD172 media collective.

The forthcoming album from the Black Keys, which features production from Danger Mouse, however, is right on track, though, Carney said.
