For the second time since I've moved into this neighborhood two years ago, I was approached in the parking lot by a couple of guys cruising around in a chevy with cardboard boxes that supposedly contained 3D televisions in the bed. The routine goes like this.. Guy in passenger seat rolls down window, says something like "hey man, you look cool. Got a moment?" Then he proceeds to offer me a free 3D TV. I have had a lot of fun adamantly turning them down on feigned principle.
What's this scam all about? Does this happen everywhere?

You should take him up on the offer. After all, it's free.
