The lineup for this year’s Bridge School Benefit was just announced (and promptly crashed their website). This year’s event will be held once again at Shoreline Amphitheatre on the weekend of October 22nd-23rd, 2011.
2011 Bridge School Benefit Lineup
Neil Young Dave Matthews Arcade Fire Los Invisibles, featuring Carlos Santana, Cindy Blackman Santana & Guests Eddie Vedder Foo Fighters (Sunday only) Mumford & Sons Tony Bennett (Sunday only) Beck (Saturday only) Diana Krall (Saturday only) Jenny Lewis
The Bridge School Benefit is an annual non-profit charity concert held in Mountain View, California every October at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. The concerts are all organized by musician Neil Young and his wife, Pegi. Proceeds benefit The Bridge School. The first concert was in October 1986, and, with the exception of 1987, the concert has been held every year since. As a practice, but not a rule, the performers use acoustic instruments. Young also personally performs every year.
Tickets will go on sale September 16th through Live Nation. Information about ticket sales, pricing, seating charts, parking, etc. can be found on the Live Nation site.

If you get a chance, go. These shows are really special, I did my first last year and I'm seriously considering skipping a day of grad school and going again.

Mick7184 is right. They played a private function in 2004 and reportedly did a few songs together. It was a Seattle thing I believe and since both of them reside there I guess some of their circles intersected. I don't think they are particularly close otherwise.
This year could be a good opportunity since they are both appearing solo rather than with their bands. But Dave is good friends with Carlos Santana so I think it is more likely they will pair up. You never know, Bridge is always full of surprises. I would have never expected Josh Groban to join the Smashing Pumpkins for Disarm a few years ago. I will be at the Saturday show. It should be a fantastic day of music all around.
