PKC, if it makes you feel any better, I work in an office with a 20-something, rabidly Bush supporting woman, who also lives with another 20-something, rabidly Bush supporting woman. But I don't think they're Pearl Jam fans.

Aw man ... I'm going to have to make sure I'm sitting at my desk the next time I see her, because that's what I'll be thinking.

I live in Europe, so my situation is different but for what it's worth, I can tell you that I work with people from France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, England, Brazil, Russia and Ukraine and there isn't a single Bush fan among us.

ha... man... i taught high school for 4 years and busted my ass to introduce students to "different" political leaders and ideas of thought, but it was pointless... unfortunately kids today care as much about politics as i did when i was their age ... it's just not important to them... i did end up with two students that took a strong interest... one is in the green party at his university and the other was working his way towards a career in politics, but he came to realize how much of a kissass fest it was and said fuck it... can't blame him... anyway, i tried, but i'm not going to die trying... we have what we will... im just learning to accept that
and these kids i have now? ha.... better get snoop for a candidate if you want them interested... or is it 50 cent these days?... who knows

I think the title of this thread is quite telling. Bush "fans." I know, I know, it's just a word, but 'fan' is a word traditionally reserved for music groups, sports teams, or other forms of entertainment. I think this is one of the biggest problems today in America--politics has become just another form of entertainment. None of the people in Washington should have fans, they should have supporters that approve of their agenda. Nowadays, most people don't even know what a politician's agenda is, and even if they do, if the guy creates a good enough 'character,' voters will overlook the agenda. Our country has pretty much turned into a huge joke as far as politics go, from the multimillion dollar patriotic clusterfucks they call the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, to the highly scripted, PR-based speeches, to the manipulation of the media, who laps up every word that any politician or 'anonymous source' dishes them. It's pathetic.

I swear to God, this picture is totally serious, and made by a true Bush fan. There was no irony intended whatsoever.
Unless they are attending a holocaust memorial ...
PS - Where's Rove in that picture?

I was a Bush "supporter", along with the other six people that attended with me, at the concert in Asheville. But I wasn't there to support anything....just to see PJ.
And as bad as I hate to admit it, I am in 100% total agreement with Towelie's post above. And I KNOW that is a first.

I just love it when the liberals and the conservatives find a point to agree upon.

Then you'll be happy to know that LW and I have reached a denoument ourselves. We agreed that we both love America, and hate all of you Americans who aren't living up to our ideals for you.
Fuck you, and carry on.
