Is there really anything more affable than a large group of midwestern sports fans playing cornhole in the parking lot of Miller Park?

Serious question: what does "soul food" mean? Why is it called "soul food"? Is it a racial thing?

LMGTFY? What is this, 2009? I want my information from the skewed, insulated minds of RM, not from the cold credibility of the rest of the internet.

"Soul food" and "Southern food" are basically analogous, depending on who you talk to. I think "soul food" came about with the Great Migration, because the people involved were no longer technically southern but brought the food of that region with them to places like NY and Detroit. But it's the same stuff--fried chicken, black eyed peas, cornbread, and all that.
